Bill 108 will be proclaimed on September 3rd 2018 with the exception of the sections applying to community Benefit Charges.

A public meeting was held by the Town of Collingwood in July to consider new Development Charges.   The Town is considering raising development charges by approximately 30% on single family homes to $30,715.00 These fees are applied to new  homes in Collingwood. On May 2, 2019 The Province announced a new Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe.  First tabled in 2006 the Growth Plan sets out a Provincial vision for the management of growth in the Golden Horseshoe and area by focusing on urban growth, more compact development and protecting natural features and agricultural lands.

The following statutes  have been changed:

1. Planning Act
2. Local Planning Appeal Tribunal Act 2017
3. Development Charges Act 1997
4. Ontario Heritage Act
5. plus Growth Plan for Greater Golden Horseshoe 2017 revised

The appeal period has expired for the Town of Blue Mountains new Zoning Bylaw. There were 5 appeals filed

The Town of Blue Mountains comprehensive zoning bylaw was approved by Council in November. The appeal period expires on December 20th, 2018

Grey County’s new official plan is headed to the Province for final approval. On October 25th County Council supported the final draft of the plan which has been more than two years in the making
