Town of Collingwood Environmental Services staff reported to Council on September  27th.  The recomnendation was to install a UV process.  Counicl was adivsed that the installation of the UV process within the existing WTP will restore the full capacity at the
WTP, thus relieving the winter water supply capacity restrictions. Once the UV process is
commissioned, the drinking water supply capacity available for new development will now be
limited by the rated water treatment plant capacity and summer water supply demands.
As such the remaining equivalent Single Dwelling Units (SDUs) available to allocate to new
development will increase from 495 to 1,285 (including a 5% factor of safety). If the factor of
safety is removed, 2,452 SDUs of water supply capacity will become available to allocate to new
development.
